PROJECT TIMELINE:
I love a quick gift and project! This shawl can be casually knit over a week or a nice weekend project. It’s a very simple repeat so its just a blissfull garter stitch as you go!
NEEDLE + YARN INFO:
Using a larger needle for drape with this otherwise tight-ish stitch and a bulky yarn gives this a flowy lightweight feel.
NOTES
Written in Standard American Terms.
Worked flat and in easy repeats.
Every row increases by 2 stitches. One at the beginning and one at the end of the row.
Gauge is flexible with this shawl. You can adjust length by adding more rows to any section. Adding rows will increase yardage needed.
Using circular needles, switch out your cord when needed to fit all the stitches.
GAUGE
**Please check your gauge before you start this pattern to match the finished measurements for this pattern:
It’s best to make your swatch slightly bigger than what the pattern states it should measure so you can measure it in the center of your square, getting an accurate reading. You can do this by adding 2 additional stitches and working 2 additional rows. Do not count the first and last stitch in your measurement or the first and last row.
Needle Size Suggestions:
If your swatch has less stitches, swatch again using a smaller needle.
If your swatch has more stitches, swatch again using a larger needle.

Next we will create Tassels to go on the ends of the shawl.
Tassels
Step 1: Using a 5” (13 cm) piece of cardboard, wrap the yarn around 20 times. Cut yarn.
Step 2: Cut a 7” (17.5 cm) length of yarn and loop it under the top of the wrapped yarn and tie it into a knot.
Step 3: Remove the yarn from your winder and cut the other ends loops to make the loose fringe.
Step 4: Cut a 7” (17.5 cm) length of yarn and while holding the tassel together, wrap it around all the yarn about an inch down from the top. Knot and hide your end inside the tassel.
Step 5: Steam block your tassel and trim the ends even. Add one to each end of the shawl.
Voila! You’re done! Block and enjoy!
