Dew Drop Cardigan
A bit of inspiration behind the name:
For this one I was eagerly awaiting Spring and the warmer temps it brings! When I first saw the cute colors of this cotton line by LBY I knew I needed to make my kiddo a cardi perfect for the warmer temps in SoCal. Sometimes having a little bit of a sleeve is the perfect amount of accessory so for this one I paired it with positive ease on the body to keep the comfort and little cute texture details to make the whole thing pop! This cardi worked up so quick and because it uses cotton it keeps you as warm and cool as you need it to!
Think of all the colorway possibilities you can make with the Tom Daley Made with Love line with Lion Brand Yarn. It has gorgeous neutrals to compliment any outfit.
A light cotton cardigan that works up in one peice with built in pockets! It’s so comfy, so easy to wear when your shoulders or cold or you need that accesory for you Spring/Summer outfit!

GAUGE
**Please check your gauge before you start this pattern to match the finished measurements for this pattern:
It’s best to make your swatch slightly bigger than what the pattern states it should measure so you can measure it in the center of your square, getting an accurate reading. You can do this by adding 2 additional stitches and working 2 additional rows. Do not count the first and last stitch in your measurement or the first and last row.
Hook Size Suggestions:
If your swatch has less stitches, swatch again using a smaller hook.
If your swatch has more stitches, swatch again using a larger hook.

Ribbing
13 (all sizes)
Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, hdc12. [12 sts]
Ch1, turn, hdc in the 3rd loop for the row.
Measures: 30 (34, 38, 42, 46)(50, 54, 58, 62)”.
Do not fasten off, continue to the Body.
Body
Next: We will rotate the Ribbing to begin working into the sides of the rows to crochet the Cardigan body. You can select which side you prefer as your RS or WS now to begin the body. I preferred the WS of the ribbing because the ends matched more for me.
Row 1: (RS) Ch2, hdc 116 (128, 144, 160, 176)(192, 208, 224, 236) sts evenly across for the row, working into the side of each row across for the row, working 2 hdcs into one row edge followed by 1 hdc into the next as much as possible. [116 (128, 144, 160, 176)(192, 208, 224, 236) sts]
Tip: Working into the same place on the row edges keeps it looking uniform and evenly spaced.
Row 2-10: Ch2, turn, hdc for the row.
Row 11: (RS) Ch2, turn, hdc6, Sl St for 12 sts (1st pocket), hdc in each st until the last 18 sts, Sl St for 12 sts (2nd pocket), hdc6.
Row 12: Ch2, turn, hdc6, ch12, sk12 (1st pocket), hdc until the 2nd pocket, ch12, sk12, hdc6.
Row 13: Ch2, turn, hdc6, hdc into the 12 ch sts not around them (double check your st counts so you don’t miss a ch), hdc until the second pocket, hdc into the 12 ch sts, hdc6.
Row 14-28: Ch2, turn, hdc the row.
Body length. Add or remove length as preferred now with your last row being a WS row.
Next section: Row 1 of the Right Front Panel is the foundation row of where we begin the following two Panels, Back and Left Front. First we will begin with the Right panel.
Right Front Panel
Row 1: (RS) Ch2, turn, hdc23 (26, 30, 34, 38)(42, 46, 50, 53).[23 (26, 30, 34, 38)(42, 46, 50, 53) sts]
Row 2-17 (17, 19, 19, 23)(23, 25, 25, 27): Ch2, turn, hdc the row.
This panel measures 7 (7, 8, 8, 9)(9, 10, 10, 11)” / 17.5 (17.5, 20, 20, 22.5)(22.5, 25, 25, 27.5) cm.
Fasten off leaving a tail 2 times the width to whip stitch the shoulders with later.
Back Panel
Row 1: Beginning where you left off on Row 1 of the Right Front Panel, sk6, attach yarn with a ch2 in the next st, hdc58 (64, 72, 80, 88)(96, 104, 112, 118) sts. [58 (64, 72, 80, 88)(96, 104, 112, 118) sts]
Row 2-17 (17, 19, 19, 23)(23, 25, 25, 27): Ch2, turn, hdc for the row.
Fasten off leaving a tail 2 times the shoulder width to whip stitch the shoulders with later.
Left Front Panel
Row 1: Beginning where you left off on Row 1 of the Back Panel, sk6, attach yarn with a ch2 in the next st, hdc23 (26, 30, 34, 38)(42, 46, 50, 53). [23 (26, 30, 34, 38)(42, 46, 50, 53) sts]
Row 2-17 (17, 19, 19, 23)(23, 25, 25, 27): Ch2, turn, hdc the row.
Fasten off.
Shoulder Seaming
Step 1: Lay the Back Panel down, RS up. Place the Front Panels onto the Back Panel so the RSs are facing each other. Line up the outer shoulders, with the lapels in the center.
Step 2: Whip Stitch the shoulders together. Begin at the outer edge and work inwards.
Sleeve Cuffs
Round 1: (RS facing you) Attach your yarn with a ch2 in the center of the underarm, hdc1 per st and along each row edge along the sleeve opening, Sl St to join in the round. [40 (40, 44, 44, 52)(52, 56, 56, 60) sts]
Round 2: Ch1, *sc1, dc1, repeat after * for the round, SlSt to join.
Round 3: Ch2, *dc1, sc1, repeat after * for the round, SlSt to join.
Round 7-8: Repeat Rounds 2+3.
Round 8: Ch1, sc the round, Sl St to join.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Repeat for the other Sleeve Cuff.
Inner Pocket
Pocket #1 Place the cardi down in front of you with the rib at the top and the WS of the cardigan facing you. Next we will crochet into the opposite side of 12 chains from Row 12 of the Body so we can crochet the inner pocket lining.
Row 1: Attach your yarn with a ch2, hdc12. [12 sts]
Row 2-9: Ch2, turn, hdc12.
Fasten off.
Using a 22” (56 cm) piece of yarn, sew along the 3 open sides of the lining to the cardigan body. Make sure your stitches don’t show through the RS of the cardigan.
Repeat this entire section for the other Pocket.
Weave in all ends.
Lapel Edging
Step 1: (RS) Attach your yarn with a ch1 at the bottom edge of the ribbing, sc up the lapel, around the neck and back down the other side, working 1 sc per hdc row edge and 1 sc per st around the neckline.
Fasten off. Weave in all your ends.
