A bit of History behind the name: Harbours in England
A harbour (British English; see spelling differences) or harbor (American English), (synonyms: wharves, haven). Harbour means to shelter or keep safe. A harbour is a place where ships may shelter. Some harbours are used as ports to load and unload ships. The port will have quays or piers where the ships may be moored or tied up and a transport system for taking goods inland. The UK’s largest Port is Grimsby and Immingham.

The Harbour Cowl
The Harbour Cowl works up quickly, all the while being really easy to create! Using the Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn makes this super oversize Infinity Cowl the perfect accessory for even the coolest days. Thick and Quick yarn also makes this project done in no time! There are so many color combos that would look lovely with this pattern.
For the colorwork I used one of my favorite techniques! This colorwork process is perfect for beginners or ones wanting an intricate look, but not having to worry about carrying yarn in the back or having an uneven tension from two colors worked in the same row! For this one I used the slip stitch technique so it looks like we toggled between two colorways on the same row, even though we didn't.
For this technique when you start a round in a new color, slip a stitch, knit the next, that slip stitch carries above to the next round. So it looks like you used two colors on one row. Pay attention for when to switch yarn colors on the round, and that's all you have to do to get this intricate work. For this pattern we carry the same stitch two rounds in a row, giving it an elongated texture and the colorwork stretching across multiple rounds gives it a beautiful look.

This infinity scarf is worked bottom-up, in the round.
Stitch count remains the same throughout the pattern.
Colorwork is created by slipping stitches. See Stitches to Know.
Color B from your last knit round before the Slipping Stitches Round, is carried up two rounds creating an elongated stitch and the appearance of two colors in those rounds.
For color changes I carried my yarn as I went. This meant I only had starting and ending, ends to weave in. When you carry the yarn up to the round don’t pull that first stitch too tight to wear the cowl rounds buckled.
Steam block when done.

It’s best to make your swatch slightly bigger than what the pattern states it should measure so you can measure it in the center of your square, getting an accurate reading. You can do this by adding 2 additional stitches and work 2 additional rows. Do not count the first and last stitch in your measurement or the first and last row.
Needle Size Suggestions:
If your swatch has less stitches, swatch again using a smaller needle.
If your swatch has more stitches, swatch again using a larger needle.
