Barrow Beanie (Bulky Weight)
Knit Rib hats are a classic wardrobe staple and wearable by the whole family. This Crochet hat is a perfect duplicate for a faux Knit Fishermans Rib Beanie, made with a hook. I included a decrease in the stitching pattern for a shaped crown. And even though this hat is worked flat, it has an invisible seam. This works up so quickly and comes in sizes from Toddler to Adult!
Enjoy!!

A BIT OF HISTORY BEHIND THE NAME:
Barrow-in-Furness, commonly known as Barrow, is a town and borough in Cumbria, England. In the Middle Ages, Barrow was a small hamlet within the Parish of Dalton-in-Furness with Furness Abbey. Barrow and the surrounding area has been settled non-continuously for several millennia with evidence of Neolithic inhabitants on Walney Island. Despite a rich history of Roman settlement across Cumbria and the discovery of related artefacts in the Barrow area, no buildings or structures have been found to support the idea of a functioning Roman community on the Furness peninsula.[9] The Furness Hoard discovery of Viking silver coins and other artefacts in 2011 provided significant archaeological evidence of Norse settlement in the early 9th century.
